What you’re seeing are the Top 30 news events across the world happening right now and this is updated as news breaks. We do this to filter out the noise and to save you time, so keep coming back for updates and breaking news.
As you filter (for a different date or category), the Top 30 for that filter will be shown. So, you can see the top news for last Wednesday, or see the top Money news for last Friday.
How do we rank? We score each article based on keywords, trending topics, and other factors, and then run it through an algorithm to set the rankings. On the main page, our goal is to show the truly important things going in the world. Lately, most of the top news events are related to elections, war, international politics, sanctions, and protest -- all of which fall under the Politics category.

Categories are color coded. You can filter into a category by clicking one of the larger category icons located at the top of the map. The top category can contain threads from any category and is based on the threads ranking.

Worldsy is a project that has been put on pause for many years now. The automation that I built and processes created have luckily not had any breaks during critical server updates. The only work done has been occasional maintenance as I have not yet automated our SSL updates or archiving process.
The algorithm will be off on some of the newest threads if there is new areas or new terminology in the world. This can impact threading and categorization so keep that in mind if you actively use our project still.
